Futuremark Games Studio announced earlier today new details for their "Moonrise" content pack coming soon to Shattered Horizon.

The screenshots released today show hints of exotic new locations: an MMC cargo ship lured into a trap by the ISA, a huge mass driver installation, the broken remains of a luxury lunar hotel and fragments of what was a massive communications dish on the Moon.

The Moonrise pack will be free to all current owners of Shattered Horizon and will come packed with four new maps. These four new maps take place around the shattered Moon and take "the fight deeper into space and (show) a new side to the conflict."

There is no current release date set for Moonrise, but the date should not be far off.

Electronic Arts and BioWare announced that Dragon Age: Origins has reached "triple platinum status." With sales now in excess of 3.2 million units and over 30 "Best of 2009" awards under its belt, the latest franchise from BioWare is off to a rather smashing start.

"This is a tremendous start for the Dragon Age franchise and we are extremely pleased with the great reception the game has already received from critics and fans worldwide," said Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder, BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA. "Our team is dedicated to crafting high quality, engaging new adventures and stories in the world of Ferelden for our fans!"

Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening, BioWare’s next installment in the Dragon Age lore, occurs following the events of Dragon Age: Origins. Players assume the role of a Grey Warden Commander entrusted with rebuilding the order of Grey Wardens and tasked to uncover the mystery of how the darkspawn survive after the slaying of the Archdemon. How players choose to rebuild their order, resolve the conflict with the mysterious "Architect," and determine the fate of the darkspawn are just some of the many intriguing moral choices that will shape each player’s heroic journey. Players will be able to import their character from Dragon Age: Origins or start out as a new Grey Warden from the neighboring land of Orlais.

Dragon Age: Origins received "Best of 2009" awards from a wide range of respected media outlets around the world, including USAToday.com, CNN.com, MSNBC.com, The Associated Press, Game Informer, GameSpot, IGN, and many more. The game has also inspired a tremendous response from gamers as BioWare’s online community skyrocketed to more than 5 million registered users, helping to make DragonAge.com the most visited site in EA's network in 2009, including EA.com.

Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening is slated for release on March 16.

Square Enix made a brief comment about why there has not yet been a remake of Final Fantasy VII, and why there may never be one. It actually ties into the same reason why Final Fantasy XIII is a far more linear Final Fantasy than what you may be used to, and why there are no actual towns in 13.
There it is, Final Fantasy fans, the reason why there has not been a remake of what many say is the best Final Fantasy title released to date: Time.

Microsoft has just announced that all Xbox Live support for the original Xbox will be discontinued on April 15, 2010. This also means that Xbox Live support will also end for Xbox 1 titles that can be played on the Xbox 360. Yes, this means that both Halo and Halo 2 will no longer be playable online. Keep in mind that Halo 2 is still one of the most played online titles across any Xbox platform and has, in fact, held the #1 position for a number of years as the most played online original Xbox title.
While future plans for Xbox Live haven't been announced, discontinuing support for old Xbox titles opens up the doors to larger friends' lists on Xbox 360 Live. It was often stated that the only reason there is a 100 person limit on Live was to keep old Xbox titles supported that had a hard coded limit on friends.
